The digital twin

The workspace for decisions without a physical prototype 

Ideally, a digital twin is created after the concept phase, as soon as the first technical drafts are available. We support you from the blank page onwards to fill the digital twin with life and detail it until it is ready for a decision. 

Filling an empty twin with life

Using our specialist knowledge/experience, we make sensible estimates and assumptions that give the twin structure (taking into account the relevant physical effects). For existing prototypes/products, we bring the digital twin to life using real measurement data.

Mapping realistic operating conditions

Illustration of an operating scenario with regard to vibration, acoustics, strength, flow or electromagnetics. Examples include an electric motor or an air conditioning system in operation. From here, we can make the digital twin "tangible" via a VR environment and facilitate decision-making.

Advance planning

We analyze, evaluate and verify simulation results. After evaluating all the results, we formulate proposals for the preliminary design of components.

Validation 

We validate simulation results by taking measurements on physical prototypes.

CAE simulation or CAE calculation is our tool for visualizing things that are not visible or measurable in reality, or only with great effort. For example, the stress distribution within a structural component during operation is only visible via a simulation. This also includes processes that can only take place in closed or intact systems and do not allow any "disturbance" during operation, e.g. by measuring devices.

Simulation is also the most efficient way of gaining knowledge about the behavior of materials, components and complete systems. As a rule, many variants are tested here that would not be economical to create as a physical prototype.

Measurements provide precise and realistic data that can serve as a basis for simulations. The use of such data helps to increase the accuracy and reliability of the simulation results, which in turn has a direct influence on the quality of the developed product.

Verification of simulation results

Measurements provide the most objective method to evaluate the accuracy of simulation results. When measurement results and simulations match, this increases confidence in the simulation and prevents costly mistakes or misconceptions from being made during product development.

Even if simulation is always more efficient than a prototype when developing solution variants, it is not always efficient to derive every required value by calculation.
